Alerts for: Dempster
11:15 AM PDT Monday 30 March 2015
Blowing Snow Advisory in effect for:
Poor visibility in snow and blowing snow is expected or occurring in some locations.
An arctic ridge of high pressure over the N.W.T. will cause strong northeast winds over the Dempster today and tonight. Near Rock River, winds will gust to 70 km/h occasionally causing reduced visibilities in blowing snow. Visbililities will improve Tuesday morning once the gusty winds start to diminish.
Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero.
Weather Advisories for blowing snow are issued when winds are expected to create blowing snow giving poor visibility to 800 metres or less for at least 3 hours.
Environment Canada meteorologists will update alerts as required. Please monitor local media or Weatheradio. Email reports of severe weather to firstname.lastname@example.org or tweet with the hashtag #BCStorm in British Columbia and #YKStorm in Yukon.
