Blowing Snow Advisory in effect for:

  • Old Crow

Poor visibility in blowing snow is expected or occurring.

A low pressure system will move into the southern Yukon early this evening, causing northeast winds of 40 gusting to 60 km/h to develop over Old Crow. This will result in reduced visibilities in blowing snow. Visibilities will improve Friday afternoon once the winds begin to ease.

Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero.

Weather Advisories for blowing snow are issued when winds are expected to create blowing snow giving poor visibility to 800 metres or less for at least 3 hours.

Environment Canada meteorologists will update alerts as required. Please monitor local media or Weatheradio. Email reports of severe weather to pacificstorm@ec.gc.ca or tweet with the hashtag #BCStorm in British Columbia and #YKStorm in Yukon.
