Alerts for: Shelburne County

4:32 AM ADT Wednesday 16 April 2014
Special weather statement in effect for:

  • Shelburne County

Temperatures will plummet today.

The unseasonably warm temperatures will come to an abrupt end today as a cold front crosses the district. Rain at times heavy ahead of the front will taper to scattered showers or wet flurries along the Atlantic coast of Mainland Nova Scotia, and elsewhere will change to freezing rain or ice pellets and possibly to snow. The snow will likely be brief over most areas but higher elevations over Northern Nova Scotia may pick up a couple centimetres of accumulation. The strong south to southwest winds will shift to the northwest in the wake of the cold front and temperatures will fall well below freezing over all areas tonight.

The public is advised to monitor future forecasts and warnings as warnings may be required or extended.
