A winter storm is expected on Thursday.
A developing low pressure system over the Central United States will intensify as it crosses the Maritimes Thursday morning to lie over the Gulf of St. Lawrence by Thursday evening. This system will bring with it the potential for significant snow and strong winds beginning on Thursday and persisting into Friday. Snow is expected to change to ice pellets or freezing rain over southeastern regions late in the day on Thursday.
Environment Canada will continue to monitor the development of this system, providing updates as new information becomes available.
The public is advised to monitor future forecasts and warnings as warnings may be required.
