Potentially significant snow, wind and rain Christmas Day.

An intense low pressure system is forecast to track towards Labrador later this week. At this time snow followed by rain and possibly freezing rain in some areas, strong winds and relatively mild temperatures for this time of year are expected. Snowfall and rainfall amounts could possibly approach or exceed warning criteria.

Environment Canada will continue to monitor the development of this system and provide updates as new information becomes available. Those planning travel or other weather-sensitive activities later in the week are advised to monitor these future forecasts for further information.
