Special weather statement in effect for:
- Sea to Sky - Squamish to Whistler
Heavy snow tonight.
A Pacific frontal system embedded in a moist southwesterly flow will give heavy snow to the higher elevation interior passes tonight. 10 to 20 cm of snowfall accumulation is expected for Rogers Pass and Kootenay Pass by Sunday morning, with higher amounts possible over Kootenay Pass.
Additionally, wet snow has begun to fall on the Sea to Sky Highway near Whistler this afternoon, and a couple of centimetres has already accumulated. Another 5 to 10 cm of snow is expected this evening near Whistler before the snow turns to rain near midnight.
