Snow over the Southern British Columbia passes tonight...Just in time for good Friday.

A Pacific cold front spreading precipitation into the interior this morning will sweep across Southern British Columbia tonight. The snow level will initially hover near 1600 metres today so that only Pennask Summit and Kootenay Pass will receive snowfall accumulations of up to 10 cm near the summits.

In the wake of the cold front the snow level will quickly lower to near 1000 metres tonight causing the snow to fall over the remaining mountain passes. Snowfall accumulations will generally range between 5 to 10 cm by Friday morning but Kootenay Pass should receive higher amounts of near 15 cm. In addition, strong westerly winds of 40 km/h gusting to 60 will develop overnight creating poor visibility in local blowing snow.
