Heavy snow over the mountain passes will continue tonight and tomorrow.

A slow moving Pacific frontal system will continue to give heavy snow to the mountain passes tonight and tomorrow. The snow at Coquihalla summit and Allison Pass is expected to change to rain overnight when the front slowly pulls eastward. Snow at time heavy over Kootenay Pass and Rogers Pass is expected to start this evening and persist into tomorrow afternoon. Total snowfall accumulations of 20 to 40 cm can be expected with the highest amounts over the Coquihalla summit and Allison Pass.

The public is advised to monitor future forecasts and warnings as warnings may be required or extended.
