  • Highway 3 - Paulson Summit to Kootenay Pass

Weekend storm may affect holiday travel plans.

A Pacific frontal system moving across the interior will bring significant snow accumulations to Rogers Pass and Kootenay Pass later today and tonight. Total snow amounts up to 25 cm are expected by early Sunday morning.

Over the Coquihalla summit and Allison Pass, snow amounts of 5 to 10 cm are forecast today before the snow becomes mixed with rain this afternoon. Rain or wet snow is expected to continue most of tonight and then switch back to snow near the summits by Sunday morning. Snow at times heavy will fall through Sunday bringing additional snow amounts of 10 to 20 cm.

The public is advised to monitor future forecasts and warnings as warnings may be required or extended.
